The Residence

Welcome to

Jeff and Judy Leon make their home on three acres at the Strawberry Fields House, where they live year-round surrounded by nature. Their homestead operates on a net zero carbon basis, a commitment they have upheld for more than a decade by replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy solutions. Three solar arrays, a geothermal heating system, and electric vehicles power and warm their home, while native gardens create a thriving landscape for both people and wildlife. The old farm house has become not only a family gathering place, hosting events of up to 125 guests, but also a living example of sustainable living, inspiring visitors to consider similar changes in their own lives.

Surrounding the house are vibrant gardens filled with native plants and flowers, carefully designed to support pollinators and local wildlife. These gardens showcase the beauty and resilience of native species, while also creating a peaceful and colorful setting for family, friends, and visitors to enjoy throughout the seasons.

Just beyond the gardens lies a pond stocked with hybrid noninvasive carp, a serene place where swallows skim the surface, turtles bask in the sun, and dragonflies dance above the water. Together, the gardens and pond create a living sanctuary that reflects the harmony between people and nature at Strawberry Fields.
